Homes that require the classic look of Kerala Oodu tile face a challenging set of weather and maintenance issues. Magnum Roof Clads, MRC Classic - Tile provides the essential scalloped beauty of traditional tile without the vulnerability of clay or concrete tiles.

While conventional tiles provide the required aesthetic elements, they crack easily and are prone to hail and storm debris impact. Clay tiles also absorb up to 15% of their weight in water and have such poor wind uplift characteristics that they aren't warrantied against wind damage at all. These deficiencies rule them out as a viable option for roofs in challenging seasonal climates.

Durable, lightweight and effortlessly elegant, MRC Tile outclasses and outlasts conventional tile and is backed by the strength of stone-coated steel to stand up against the elements.

Magnum Roof Clads tile consists of different tile variants such as

  • MRC Flat Tile feature thick-cut edges to provide the same dimensionality of a heavy architectural shingle. The lightweight characteristic means that the need for a complete tear-off of the existing roof material isn't necessary in many cases. Protective layers and a unique MRC interlocking system add shear strength and wind resistance.
  • MRC Wooden Tile - The rustic beauty and architectural detail of a thick, rustic, hand-split wood shake can endure for a lifetime with MRC Wooden tile. The durability and strength of stone-coated steel requires little to no maintenance and won't turn gray after a few months like traditional wooden shake. While wood shakes undoubtedly provide a distinctive beauty, it's a beauty that goes to grey quickly after a brief period of exposure to the elements. Cupping, splitting, and loosening around the fasteners make wood shakes prone to wind uplift and their impact and moisture resistance is minimal. Wood shakes, even top-of-the-line cedar, are vulnerable to bacteria and fungus and are one of the most high maintenance roofing options.
  • MRC Roman Tile - Exquisitely replicating the vivid level of detail and dimension of Old-World Italian clay tiles, MRC Roman Tile brings durable beauty and the luxurious appeal without the deficiencies of clay which cracks easily and is vulnerable to hail and storm debris impact.
  • Traditional tiles are prone to hail impact, storm debris damage, and can absorb up to 15% of their weight in water, adding significantly to the weight of the roof over time. Clay tile roof repairs and replacements require ongoing maintenance to protect the underlying structure.Durable, lightweight, Magnum Roof Clads Tile provides effortless elegance with the strength of steel.
